Ippudo – Sydney Westfield

I’ve been a fan of this ramen restaurant ever since I first devoured it back on a trip to New York. It’s been in Sydney for a couple years now and it’s still one of my favourite ramen places in town. Ask anyone and they’ll give you their opinion on the best ramen in Sydney. From Ryos to Gumshara, Menya to Ikkyu. I however cannot choose the best so I will write about my favourites; Ippudo being one of them. I like Ippudo not only because of their ramen, but because of the atmosphere. It’s casual restaurant and constantly filled during lunch and dinner hours. On this occasion, I went with my family to celebrate my dad’s birthday so we ended up ordering a bunch of sides as well as their delicious ramen. Butter – Surry Hills

When I heard there was a place that had fried chicken, an awesome selection of kicks at the front and a wide selection of drinks to indulge in, I knew I had to check it out. This is the place that is consta ntly filled with patrons from open til close Monday to Saturday. I thought I’d try and beat the crowd and rock up a little earlier just before 6pm on a Wednesday, however when we arrived the place was in full swing. Luckily there was one table towards the back near the kitchen but I wasn’t complaining as the smell of juicy fried chicken filled the air. The waitress was extremely friendly and explained what ‘Butter’ was all about. The short story – Fried Chicken! Bit of eye candy art Ok the slightly longer version is that the chicken is sold in packs of 3 pieces and 13 pieces. The 3 pack comes with a thigh piece, 2 tenders and side of coleslaw.
