Sekka Dining

New comer in the ramen scene is Sekka Dining which has recently opened in St Leonards.  Small but cozy, this ramen joint which is in the works to expanding their dining options, is already a smash hit. They will be bringing more izakaya options such as yakitori and kushiyaki but in the mean time you can enjoy delicious starters and steaming hot bowls of ramen.  In terms of drinks they serve Asahi on tap and Japanese cocktails such as whisky highballs, gin and tonic and a variety of hot and cold sake.  I went during their second week of soft opening on a weekday and didn't have to wait long at all to be seated. There is bar seating as well as 3 booth options which can fit 5-6 people as well as a few tables spread throughout.  For entree we ordered the blue fin tuna made with house soy, organic egg yolk, shiso and olive oil. For ramen I chose the Tonkotsu Shoyu whilst my partner ordered the Shoyu ramen.  The entree of bluefin tuna was amazing! Presentation of the dish was one similar

Motto Motto - Macquarie Centre

Motto Motto! Or more more! in Japanese is exactly what you'll say after eating at this casual fast-dining Japanese diner.  I discovered this place whilst walking around Macquarie Centre and it's such a hidden gem. We got a side of pork belly and corn croquette balls and we got sucked into adding the matcha soft serve at the end because... matcha soft serve! Can't ever say no to that! The side of croquette balls came quite quickly and they were fresh and piping hot. Crunchy on the outside with a creamy mix of shredded pork belly and corn on the inside. Delicious starter! Pork belly and corn croquettes My ramen I admit didn&

What Would Lobi Eat: 2020 Edition

I've neglected blogging quite a bit and hope to restart it midway through 2020 which has been a rollercoaster of a year so far. My last post was March of 2019 and so much has happened since then in both my personal life and the world in general.  Fast forward to July 2020 and the world has never been the same like it once was. Economies have taken a downturn and international travel has basically ceased. All this is of course due to the influenza virus Covid19 which started making the rounds in the news around December 2019. In Sydney, 23rd March 2020 saw the closure of all restaurants, pubs and food businesses which were only able to operate on a takeaway only basis. This was quite difficult and saw many businesses sadly shut their doors permanently. Luckily for many, they were still able to remain open even with a takeaway only business model and only very recently, have opened back up t
